Monadnock

Home to Keene State College and numerous bucolic farms and colonial homes – this region derives it’s name from beautiful Mt. Monadnock – a popular southern NH destination. Pristine Walpole New Hampshire has been home to such current notables as Ken Burns and past notables as Louisa May Alcott. Peterborough is home to the MacDowell Art Colony a summer retreat for over 6000 artists, musicians and writers who count 61 Pulitzer Prizes amongst themselves. Well known as “Currier and Ives Country” this region of New Hampshire prides itself in it’s preservation of historic homes and buildings.
